Babalwa joined Freeworld Coatings in October 2007 and is also chairperson of the Audit, Risk & Compliance committee. She was recently appointed as Chief Financial Officer of Safika Holdings (Pty) Ltd and prior to this recent appointment Babalwa was the Group Chief Internal Auditor of Nedbank Ltd. Other board memberships include Sasol Inzalo Public Limited and the University of Stellenbosch Business School (USD-ED). Previously she was audit partner in Deloitte’s Financial Institutions Services Team (FIST) division from 2003 to 2007. Babalwa completed the Women in Leadership Programme at Harvard University in Boston in 2008 and in August was awarded BBQ business woman of the year. Babalwa was the founding chairperson of the African Women Chartered Accountants (AWCA) and is currently a member of its Advisory Board.
